Bordeaux winger Malcom had admitted that he dreams of plying his trade for Bayern Munich in the future. The Brazilian footballer is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in French football, and he has been tipped to leave Bordeaux at the end of the current campaign.
In an interview, Malcom was quizzed about the opportunity to join the Bavarian giants at a future date, and the winger could not hide his ambition. He said: “Bayern is one of the biggest clubs in the world and it would be a dream to play there one day. It makes me happy that they are thinking about me. I will keep working hard to improve and, who knows, a transfer to Munich might become reality soon.”
Meanwhile, there has also been talk of the forward making the move to the Premier League in the summer, and Malcom does not mind testing himself in English top-flight, he added: “The Premier League is also a very interesting option. I learned the language quickly, had no major difficulties. French was much harder, so in England I would be fine. But, in the end, I can integrate anywhere.”
Despite Malcom’s comments, his dream of joining Bayern could be short-lived after manager Jupp Heynckes dismissed the club’s prospect of pursuing his services. The veteran head coach suggested that he has no clue over the winger’s style of play whilst stressing Bayern are not interested in any potential deal.
If this remains the case, Malcom could be the subject of a transfer tussle between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal during the summer with the London clubs said to have watched his progress through the season. Both sides are likely to add another forward-minded player to their ranks for next season, and Malcom could be the player of interest, if he can maintain his performance levels in the coming months. The former Corinthians man has contributed eight goals and six assists in Ligue 1 this term.
