Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain is rumoured to be in the radar of Pep Guardiola as the Spanish manager wants to bring Higuain to the Allianz Arena in the summer transfer window.
Higuain has scored 13 Serie A goals for Napoli in this season. These 13 league goals were converted from the 30 appearances that the Argentine forward has made and it seems to have been enough to attract the interest of Arsenal and Bayern.
If rumours are indeed true (and these gaming experts back them up), Bayern are winning the race to secure the services of Gonzalo Higuain it will be a big blow to Liverpool and Arsenal who were also interested in signing him.
Arsenal's Arsene Wenger already has a plethora of attacking options at his disposal including: Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck. Having all of these offensive players already at his reach, it would be better off for Arsene Wenger to reinforce another section of his team.
Napoli has placed a price tag of around £28.9m for Gonzalo Higuain and he has a contract with the Italian club which allows him to earn £57,000-a-week. Guardiola will have to launch an attractive offer that would make Higuain consider making a switch over to the Bundesliga.
Bayern are not a club known to spend big amounts of cash on a player but if it’s for a player who has a promising future ahead of him, Bayern are willing to go deep in their pockets to sign that specific player. This is what happened when they signed Lewandowski in September of 2013. Alcantara is another player which arrived at a fairly high fee as he was signed for over £20 million.
If Higuain truly is one of the top targets of Guardiola and Bayern, a summer transfer might indeed happen.
