Bayern Munich have made it clear that they would like star striker Robert Lewandowski to renew his contract as soon as possible. The Poland international striker is nearing the final months of his current deal and even though there have not been any signs insinuating that he would not he putting pen to paper on a fresh deal, he still has not made it clear that he will be doing that anytime soon.
According to reports, Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann has made it clear that he wants the striker to stay at the club beyond the current season, just the way the club's director has also openly insinuated the same thing.
It was revealed that Lewandowski was having the thought of switching clubs last summer, something that made him loom a little far away from renewing his contract at the Allianz Arena. Since then, there have been claims that other clubs could take advantage of the situation and try to convince him to not pen a new contract. One major reason for Lewandowski reportedly showing interest in leaving Bayern Munich was the fact that he felt the need to play in another country, a different league.
But, of course, Bayern chiefs would not want to see such an important player leave the club just like that. Chelsea were reported as one of the club's that showed interest in signing the former Borussia Dortmund frontman but with the Blues already signing Romelu Lukaku for a hefty price, they are not expected to splash any huge sum to sign another striker anytime soon, not even Erling Haaland.
Bayern will be hoping that Lewandowski has his figure sorted at the club as soon as possible so they can focus on other important things moving forward.
