According to a report by German publication BILD, Bayern Munich are exploring the possibility of signing Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane in the 2023 summer transfer window. The England captain will have just a year remaining on his contract with the north London outfit after this season if he decides against signing a renewal this season. Bayern Munich have signed Sadio Mane from Liverpool and Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus in two blockbuster deals this summer. While the Senegalese international cost them €41 million, they paid €70 million plus €10 million in add-ons to sign the Dutch defender.
However, the Bundesliga champions have lost Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona and are now keen to replace the Polish goal machine. But as per the report by BILD, Bayern Munich are plotting a move for Harry Kane for next summer and have even approached the Tottenham striker’s entourage to inquire about a possible move.
However, BILD claim the initial reaction from Kane’s camp was a quick no, with Tottenham Hotspur trying their best to tie down the English forward to a longer deal. The 28-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City last summer but eventually stayed put at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Kane now looks set to spend at least one more season at the north London club, with Antonio Conte leading a massive rebuild. Spurs could be fighting for trophies on multiple fronts in the upcoming campaign, which is what has seemingly convinced Kane to stay at the club. Recently, former Germany goalkeeper Oliver Kahn reacted to speculations linking Bayern Munich with a move for Harry Kane. The Bayern Munich chairman stopped short of confirming the club’s interest but hinted that there could be some interest in the Tottenham forward.
