The manager of Bayern Munich, Pep Guardiola, is interested in the Brazilian international David Luiz who is a contracted player of the English Premier League club Chelsea at this point of time.
According to the reports, Guardiola has the desire to work with Luiz since the time he was in charge at Barcelona and he is now ready to spend a big amount on him.
Luiz’s contract at Stamford Bridge is not even close to get expired. He is contracted there for the next 4 years.
Also, Jose Mourinho who is the Chelsea boss at the moment is the old managerial rival of Guardiola. So, it doesn’t seem he would let Luiz go to Munich that easily.
But, it is believed that the Bayern Munich board would hand Guardiola a considerable amount of bucks to try and land the 26 years old striker at Allianz Arena.
Luiz hasn’t featured for the Blues on a regular basis this season. He has been given very few playing opportunities.
Luiz’s best quality is his versatility. He can play in the midfield too apart from playing as a defender and he is the sort of guy that Bayern Munich has been looking for since the last couple of years.
The last season was one of the most successful seasons ever for Bayern Munich. Not only had they won their domestic league, they had become the champions in Europe as well.
This season also seems to be going quite similarly for them. They haven’t lost even a single Bundesliga game that they have played in the season and are presently at the top of the table with 44 points. Bayer Leverkusen which is at no. 2 in the table has got 7 points less than them.
